Greece wedding photographer

Oh, Greece, how we love you! The deepest blue of the ocean, endless fields of olive groves, the mountains. Life really flows slower here and we just love how instantly relaxed we are once we get there. We’ve visited many islands before (Santorini is our favorite) but other than Athens, we haven’t explored the mainland yet.

Kalamata, Greece destination wedding

Romy and James come from different parts of the world. She’s from Johannesburg, South Africa, and James is from the UK. They choose Kalamata, Greece as their wedding destination. The area is known for its kalamata olives and we were blown away by the number of olive trees we saw. We decided to make a road from Athens to Kalamata and really enjoyed the drive through the mountains to the seaside. In Kalamata, the mountains kiss the sea and you can go from being at the beach to enjoying the crisp air of the mountains in the matter of minutes.

Intimate wedding in the Greek mountains

An intimate destination wedding in Greece, that’s what Romy and James envisioned. Just the closest family and a really relaxed setting. They got married at the Villa Romy’s uncle owns. It’s actually a yoga retreat overlooking the blue sea. Very secluded and intimate.

Olive grove sunset

After the lovely intimate ceremony, we drove to the reception location in the mountains. We stopped at a stunning olive grove just in time for a beautiful golden sunset. Romy and James are so connected to nature, so the olive grove was the absolute perfect location for them. It’s what the area is all about - olives and the sun. Afterwards, we drove to the al fresco reception dinner in the mountains.

Beach photoshoot the day after the wedding

We wanted to capture the beauty of the beaches as well, but in mid-August it’s impossible because of the crowds, so we decided to meet early next morning and explore some beaches nearby.

Romy and James, we loved being your wedding photographers in Kalamata, Greece and we hope travel will be back to normal soon, so we can get back to Greece and explore it more. So many spots that are still on our wishlist!
