Budapest wedding photographer

We met Sakura and Andy for the first time in Hallstatt, Austria where Andy proposed. After exploring the alpine villages they moved on the bigger European cities and urban environments. They saw the Castle district in Budapest and just knew they had to call us to be their Budapest wedding photographers.

It was our first time visiting Budapest and it blew us away with its beauty. Over the centuries, three cities grew and blossomed side by side along the banks of the Danube: Buda, site of the royal residence; Pest with its dynamic growth from the 19th century onwards; and Óbuda, known for its somewhat less urban but cheerful restaurants and citizens.

We explored the Castle district of Budapest and just new we had to get up super early to have this place to ourselves. Especially, since it was the last day of the Sziget Festival and the city was packed with tourists. So we got up at 4 AM and drove up to the castle. The Fisherman’s Bastion is a terrace in neo-Gothic and neo- Romanesque style on the Castle Hill. Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin. The terrace view is incredible and you can see the Danube, Margaret Island, Pest and the beautiful skyline of the city.

One of the many privileges of our work is that we get to experience amazing locations with amazing people and this sunrise was one for the books. We took a stroll through the hidden corners of the fortress and all the way down to the Danube and the old city centre. Sakura and Andy are incredibly relaxed in front of the camera and working with them is so easy and fun. We even visited them in their home in Macau while being in Hong Kong.

Hope Budapest impresses you as much as it impressed us. Enjoy!
